Sammonpuistikko garden
In hundred meters to the West of the Temppeliaukio church is a cozy square Sammonpuistikko (на карте). The garden bears the name of the object of Finnish mythology "Kalevala", "Sampo" or "Sammon" denotes a magical object that brings happiness and wealth.

Helsinki has many such green areas, parks and alleys. The city lives in harmony with nature and does not resemble modern urban capitals of other countries.

Around the square there are massive buildings of red brick, reminiscent of the Jugend architect style, although built much later and devoid of excessive decoration.

Rationalism and functionality are the main features of Nordic architecture.
