Turku Cathedral Interiors

After getting acquainted with the history and architecture of the Cathedral, let's look inside the temple. Bishop Mikael Agricola (1510-1557), Finnish reformation activist, educator and translator of the Bible into Finnish.

There's an old donation box in the corner. There were two locks, and different people kept the keys to them...there wasn't much reliance on honesty in the middle ages...

The interior of the Cathedral was designed in the 1830s by Fredrik Vestin and Karl Engel.

В капелле Святого Георгия похоронен епископ Хемминг, причисленный к лику святых. В разных частях собора также покоятся Мауну II Таваст, Олави Маунунпойка, Конрад Биц, Мауну III Сяркилахти, Кнут Поссе, Павел Юстен, Исаак Ротовиус, Турстэн Столхандскэ, Окэ Тотт, Эверт Хурн.

В 1980 году в соборе был установлен новый 81-регистровый орган.

Наиболее известное надгробие собора — саркофаг Катарины Монсдоттэр, жены короля Эрика XIV.
