Kluuvi. Shopping streets

The Esplanade is adjacent to the Kluuvi quarter, it is business and shopping area of the city.

The Glo hotel Kluuvi in the corner Alexanterinkatu and Kluuvikatu. On the lower floor of the hotel is a shop of men's clothing of Sartoria Rossi and Shoe store Zio. The next building is the famous confectionery FAZER.

Here I stayed near a street musician, who masterfully performed classical melodies on an original instrument made of glass bottles. "Tool setting" is made with water poured into bottles.

Pedestrian street Kluuvikatu leads to Eurokangas store. This family-owned company was founded in 1945 and is now the largest network in Finland for the trade in fabrics and garments.

Mikinkatu, also the pedestrian street, connects the Esplanade and the Station square. The shopping centres Galleria Esplanad is located here.

"Lundqvist house" on the corner Mikonkatu and Aleksanterinkatu now occupied by the Department store Aleksi.

On the next street, Keskuskatu, is the largest Department store in Finland, Stockmann.

Part of Keskuskatu was closed for repair of communications. In this northern country, the pipelines do not bury deep into the ground, as we have in Russia, but are laid in concrete trays very close to the surface and using effective thermal insulation.
